You will see that Jason White plays with four fingers on the first note, * * then three fingers on the next three notes. The thing about the intro is you HAVE * * TO PLAY EVERY STRING EXCEPT THE LOW E!!! Otherwise, you will not get the distinct * * and correct sound that you hear in the song.
