verse

in the verse jimi goes into chords in a up down picking pattern
the chords are e7 g and a each time he hits the top string of the chord

this is how e7 looks

E---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
a---7-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
d---6-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
g---7-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
b---8-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
e---0---------------------------------------------------------------------------

the g chord is barred to play it you lay you 1st finger flat on the 3rd fretthe your 3rd finger on a string
5th fret 4th finger d string 5th fret and your 2nd finger on g string4 th fret

to play a barre you just move that formation up to the 5th fret
