CAPO 2, standard tuning

rich-uk's version is already great. I just play this version because
1) I hate the B chord and have to practice it yet (I'm a beginner :-)
2) Playing the G and A chords as barre saves you switching the shapes too often,
especially in the prechorus

Intro:
D Bm D G
G Bm F#m A

Verse 1:
D D D D A
It started with a low light, next thing I knew they ripped me from my bed.
                      Bm A A D
And then they took my blood type, they left a strange impression in my head.
                    D D D A
You know that I was hopin', that I could leave this starcrossed world behind.
                     Bm A A
But when they cut me open, I guess I changed my mind.

Prechorus 1:
        G A Bm F#m
And you know I might have just flown too far
         G A Bm F#m
from the floor this time, 'cos they're calling me by my name.
            G A F#m Bm
And they?re zipping white light beams, disregarding bombs and satellites.
A A A A
That was the turning point, that was one lonely night.

Chorus 1:
D Bm D G
The starmaker says it ain't so bad, the dream-maker's gonna make you mad.
G Bm F#m A
The spaceman says, "Everybody look down, it's all in your mind."

Verse 2:
D D D D A
Well now I'm back at home and, I'm looking forward to this life I live.
                    Bm A A D
You know it's gonna haunt me, so hesitation to this life I give.
                          D D D A
You think you might cross over, you're caught between the devil & the deep blue sea.
                   Bm A A
You better look it over, before you make that leap.

Prechorus 2:
        G A Bm F#m
And you know I'm fine, but I hear those voices
   G A Bm F#m
at night sometimes, that justify my claim.
        G A F#m Bm
And the public don't dwell on my transmission, 'cos it wasn't televised.
A A A A
But it was the turning point, oh, what a lonely night!

Chorus 2:
D Bm D G
The starmaker says it ain't so bad, the dream-maker's gonna make you mad.
G Bm F#m A
The spaceman says, "Everybody look down, it's all in your mind."
D Bm D G
The starmaker says it ain't so bad, the dream-maker's gonna make you mad.
G Bm F#m A
The spaceman says, "Everybody look down, it's all in your mind."

Bm Bm Bm Bm
My global position systems are vocally addressed.

They say the Nile used to run from East to West.
Bm Bm G A G
They say the Nile used to run, from East to West.

I'm fine, but I hear those voices
   D Em G A
at night sometimes.
