Great American Sharpshooter
Less Than Jake

Ok, here's a great song from LTJ's fifth album Hello Rockview (an incredibly awesome
by the way.) Some of the syncopated rhythms the guitarist uses, like in the second verse,
instance, are a little tricky especially to sing and play at the same time- but it
fine played straight, too.

(solo gtr.)
Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
So you think of what it could've been
     Ab5 C#5 Ab5 (band enters) Eb5
When time is all you've lost it keeps burning through your head
              Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
(And now) you fall asleep standing but lie awake in bed
            Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
(Watch the) clock drag on and think about what you should've said

[Pre-Chorus]
C#5 F#5 Ab5 C#5
Oh- It's for the better
F#5 Ab5
Your better half is gone.
Eb5 (////) F#5 (////)
It's OK - You didn't need her anyway.

[Chorus]
    Ab5 C#5 Eb5 C#5
And I don't want to hear you say, ?Nobody can take her place,?
Ab5 C#5 Bb5 C#5
Woah oh oh oh oh... oh-oh-oh
    Ab5 C#5 Eb5 C#5
And what more can I say? You don't need her anyway.
Ab5 C#5 Bb5 C#5
Woah oh oh oh oh... oh-oh-oh

Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
So you think of how it should've been
     Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
And "It's just over" Keeps going through your head.
         Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
(You're) hearing all those words time & time again
            Ab5 C#5 Ab5 Eb5
(Watch the) phone all night and think about what you should've said

[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]

[Breakdown] (solo gtr.)
Ab5 C#5 Eb5 C#5
Woah oh oh oh oh... oh-oh-oh
Ab5 C#5 Bb5 C#5
Woah oh oh oh oh... oh-oh-oh
Ab5 C#5 Eb5 C#5
Woah oh oh oh oh... oh-oh-oh
Ab5 C#5 Bb5 C#5
Woah oh oh oh oh... oh-oh-oh

[Chorus]
[Ending] Eb5 C#5 Ab5

Well there it is. This is a pretty good song to cover if you want an awesome LTJ song
don't have any horns in your band, because there aren't any horns in the recording (as far
I can tell anyway.)

Have Fun,
Jon
