Standard Tuning: EADGBe
Capo: 2nd Fret

Chords: (written as used without capo)

  A5 * A5 E5 D5
e | -0---- | --0--- | --0--- | --2--- |

The A* and the A chord are slightly
different from eachother. From the
a-chord, the second fret of the
b-string should be hammered on while
strumming between these two chords.

Variate a bit with the D-chord every
now and then at the end of each sentence.

  A5 * A5 E5 D5
A rife sits behind her sleeping ear

A5 * A5 E5 D5
Echo on the cold wall, closest neighbour couldn?t hear

   A5 * E5 E5 D5
We dug a hole in the fall____

              A5 * E5 D5 (single strums)
So now it?s a frozen burial

          E5 D5 ( A5 * A5 E5 D5 ) x2
And she?s gone__, just before the new year

         A5 * A5 E5 D5
Well i?m gonna build a cross for her spot between the trees

    A5 * A5 E5 D5
And stick it in firm so it won?t sway in the breeze

A5 * E5 D5 (single strums)
You and i have trouble making up our half-assed minds

               A5 * E5 D5
But she?d seen sixteen years__ of our kind

E5 D5 ( A5 * A5 E5 D5 ) x2
What?s it like___ | , when your memories start to freeze

E5 A5 * D5 A5
Oh__and i wonder__

        E5 A5 * D5 A5 *
What it is about dogs and thunder__

E5 A5 * E5 A5 * D5
What they hear, coming over the field___

E5 A5 * D5 A5 *
Back hall shelter, warm nights in summer

E5 A5 * D5 A5 *
Shaking the ground that you lie under

       E5 A5 *
Well i know you?re not here

       E5 A5 * D5 ( A5 * A5 E5 D5 ) x2

      D5
And i came to see you, on the day that it happened

              A5 * E5 D5 (single strums)
You said ?Hey sorry Sar, but i gotta go?

          D5

A5 * E5 D5 (single strums)
Something you just can?t show

     D5
So i guess it?s time i go

 A5 * A5 E5 D5
Across the snowy barnyard, just pas the driving shed

A5 * A5 E5 D5
Shadow of me in the moon, well i was in the movie in my head

     A5 * E5 D5
This pile of dirt on the ground

     A5 * E5 D5 (single strums)
Will sink when nobody?s around

E5 D5 A5 * A5 E5 D5

What they hear, coming over the field___

E5 A5 * D5 A5 *
Back hall shelter, warm nights in summer

E5 A5 * D5 A5 *
Shaking the ground that you lie under
