Here's the cool song by the Datsuns it's a simple strumming pattern but you could either play it :
Up, Down, Up ,down, UP, down, down, down in time with the chords
or the way they play it which is shown below
Basically keep your fingers on the strings and just keep strumming up and down only push the note in the 
right places. I've already said it once but keep your fingers unpressed on the strings for the muted bits (x)

and play it from the beginning.
