Album: Weezer aka the green album
Song written by Rivers cuomo
Tabbed by: Finny Merrill

Hash Pipe

A lot of people have tabbed this song but not many have gotten it
right. I *think* this is right.

Btw if anyone's wondering about what this song is about, it is
NOT drug-related. From what I can tell about the lyrics, its
sung from the point of view of a Los Angeles prostitute. (santa
monica, "trick" = prostitute's customer, boogies = some kind
of STD)

Ok the lead (Rivers' part) is played high toned on the lead pickup,
with electronic distortion, and slight wah effect throughout the
whole song.

The rhythm (Brian's part) is played low toned on the neck pickup,
with amp OD.

the bass plays clean, either string of the rhythm part

Intro/verse is palm muted in such a way that rhythm can mostly
be heard over the lead

Intro/verse

Lead

palm mute

let the palm mute off for a half beat on the second measure of the
song, 4-and, this is played four measures before the verse and during
the verse

Lead gradually lets the palm mute off in the middle of the third verse line,
and by the end of the verse it's hardly on, but the lead is still soft.

Then there's the pre-chorus

The first chord starts on the last half-beat of the last measure of the
verse (4-and) and rings out, but I'll just put it here anyway

x = stop the chord, not a muted strum.

both guitars drop palm mute at this point

Chorus

slide down into 55X/X57 in the beginning of the chorus then repeat
the pre-chorus strum pattern for 6 measures, going down a full step
every 2 measures. in measures 7 and 8 of the chorus, slide down to
22X/X24 and play more stacatto.

Then back to verse the first time, into the bridge the second and third.

Not gonna bother tabbing the bridge. The first time you play the bridge,
it goes into the four-measure pre-verse then into a lead solo. (make one up
or find it in another tab, its really simple) After the solo, go back into
the pre-chorus, then the chorus, the bridge again, the pre-verse, and then
the last two lines of the verse (letting off the palm mute). Then on the very
last eigth, play EAD open on both guitars.

Thats it
