St Vincent - Marrow Album: Actor (2009) I love love love this song. Since I heard it on Letterman I really wanted to know how to play the sax-ish parts, so I tried to figure it out. Corrections are VERY welcome! mail: glennsens@gmail.com Klarinet-part, two ways to play, I like them both. The first gives you that glitchy not-yet-sound. e----------------------------------------------------------| b----------------------------------------------------------| g-12---12---...-10---10---...-8----8----...-5---5---...----| d----15---15-...---13---13-...--12---12-...---8---8-...----| a----------------------------------------------------------| e----------------------------------------------------------| Or, of course, you can just hammer/pulloff like this e------------------------------------------------------------| b------------------------------------------------------------| g12p10h12.....10p8h10.....8p7h8....5p3h5.....----------------| d------------------------------------------------------------| a------------------------------------------------------------| e------------------------------------------------------------| verse I have no clue what to play during the verse except for the scratching on the strings. chorus a e--------------------------------------------------------| b--------------------------------------------------------| g---8----------------------------------------------------| d-8-------10-7-------------5-7-0-------------------------| x4 a------10------8-8-8-8-(10)--------8-8-8-8-(10)----------| e--------------------------------------------------------| chorus b e------------------------------------------------------| b------------------------------------------------------| g-10-8-7---8--------7----------------------------------| d--------7----10--8---8-7-8-10-------------------------| a------------------------------------------------------| e------------------------------------------------------| chorus c e------------------------------------------------------| b------------------------------------------------------| g--------8---------------------------------------------| d-7h8s10---10-8-5-7-----------5-7-0--------------------| a--------------------8-8-8-8----------8-8-8-8----------| a------------------------------------------------------| I thought it's kinda silly to try and play the solo as correct as possible. Listen closely and you'll understand. Buy a fuzz and an octaver and take the chance to go mental yourself ;) I'm not sure about the fourth note in chorus b. Is it an a, a# or c? Please tell me if you have an idea! (triple rhyme!)
