It is probably, in my opinion, one of the greatest David Bowie songs. It is off of -Space Oddity- and quite a track coming in at over nine minutes. It is quite a piece moving through so many key changes and other things. Those are things characteristic of -Space Oddity-, figuring out songs off that album is quite difficult. I was quite frustrated trying to get some of it but now that I got all of it, I am quite proud and happy I did it. I am typing this on a word processor program that does not show any quotation or apostrophe marks. So to not cause any confusion on the lyrics, I will use a ~ for an apostrophe and ~~ for both open and closed quotation marks. I took the lyrics right off of the album and even capitalized a lot of things that were capitalized on the album sleeve. I hope you enjoy this, (it took me a really strenuous long time to do but I did enjoy doing it anyway): THE CYGNET COMMITTEE by David Bowie D (xx0232@1) D/CI (x30232@1)bless you madly Bm (x24432@1) Bb (x1333x@1) DSadly (xx0232@1)as I tie my shoe D/CI (x30232@1)love you badly Bm (x24432@1) Bb (x1333x@1) D (xx0232@1) D/CJust (x30232@1)in time, at times, I guess Bm (x24432@1) Bb (x1333x@1) D (xx0232@1) D/CBecause (x30232@1)of you I need to rest Bm (x24432@1) Bb (x1333x@1) DBecause (xx0232@1)it~s you that sets the test Eb (x43121@3) BbmSo (x13321@1)much has gone and little is new Bbm (x13321@1) AAnd (x02220@1)as the sparrow sings F#Dawn (244322@1)chorus for Bbm (x13321@1) Someone else to hear Bbm (x13321@1) AThe (x02220@1)thinker sits alone F# (244322@1) BbmGrowing (x13321@1)older And so bitter F (133211@1) Bbm~~I (x13321@1)gave Them life, I gave Them all C (x32010@1) FmThey (133111@1)drained my very soul...dry F (133211@1) BbmI (x13321@1)crushed my heart to ease Their pains C (x32010@1) Fm (133111@1) AbNo (xx1114@1)thought for me remains there Bbm (x13321@1) DbNothing (x43121@1)can they spare CWhat (x32010@1)of me?
