The version I first posted (and is posted at other places on UG) sounds good, it really does, but this is how M20 play it. I'll leave the original version I posted here, just in case. The words in (brackets) are still applicable. ^=Up Stroke V=Down Stroke CAPO 4 CHORDS D2Em C (x32010@1)GC9 D1---o--o--o--3--3--2--- (xx0232@1)2---3--o--1--3--3--3--- 3---2--o--o--o--o--2--- 4---o--2--2--o--2--o--- 5---x--2--3--2--3--x--- 6---x--x--x--3--x--x--- VERSE ONE D2It's (x43141@2)sitting by the overcoat EmThe (022000@1)second shelf the notes she wrote C (x32010@1) G (320003@1) D2That (x43141@2)I can't bring myself to throw away CAnd (x32010@1)also D2 (x43141@2) EmReach (022000@1)she said for no one else but you C'Cause (x32010@1)you won't turn away G (320003@1) D2When (x43141@2)someone else is gone (Pause, then come into 2nd part of verse one louder, heavier, maybe with a bit of distortion) D2I'm (x43141@2)sorry 'bout the attitude EmI (022000@1)need to give when I'm with you C (x32010@1) G (320003@1) D2But (x43141@2)no one else will take this shit from me CAnd (x32010@1)I'm so D2 (x43141@2) EmTerrified (022000@1)of no one else but me CI'm (x32010@1)here all the time G (320003@1) D2And (x43141@2)I won't go away PRE-CHORUS (Gentle, single strums----------------------------) Em (022000@1) C (x32010@1) G (320003@1) D2 (x43141@2) C (x32010@1) It's me, yeah well I can't get myself to go away (-----------------)(Harder, louder, multiple strums again) D2 (x43141@2) Em (022000@1) C (x32010@1) GHe-ey, (320003@1)it's me, and I can't get myself to go away D2Oh (x43141@2)God, I shouldn't feel this way now CHORUS Em(vv v ^^vv^) } Reach down your hand into your pocket } Only for Em and C in chorus C(vv v ^^vv^) } *=This stoke Pull out some hope for me G (320003@1) D2 (x43141@2) C9It's (x3233x@1)been a long day, always say ain't that right Em* But no Lord, your hand won't stop it C* Just keep you trembling G (320003@1) D2 (x43141@2) C9It's (x3233x@1)been a long day, always say ain't that right VERSE TWO D2Well, (x43141@2)I'm surprised that you believe EmIn (022000@1)anything that comes from me C (x32010@1) G (320003@1) D2I (x43141@2)didn't hear from you or someone else CAnd (x32010@1)you're so D2Set (x43141@2)in life man, a pisser they're waiting Em (022000@1) CToo (x32010@1)damn bad you get so far so fast G (320003@1) D2So (x43141@2)what, so long CHORUS Em* Reach down your hand into your pocket C* Pull out some hope for me G (320003@1) D2 (x43141@2) C9It's (x3233x@1)been a long day, always say ain't that right Em* But no Lord, your hand won't stop it C* Just keep you trembling G (320003@1) D2 (x43141@2) C9It's (x3233x@1)been a long day, always say ain't that right Now comes the solo. This should all be right, but I'm not too sure if I've put the chord letters eg G C Am F the right words because I first did this on Microsoft Word, then copied and pasted, and re-arranged most of the letters. I think it's all right though, but maybe not 100% the way I play it. Anyway, this is how I play it, barring any little mistakes I may have made with the . . . Enjoy!
