A Tool Acoustic Tab There's one I thought would never happen. It took me some time to figure this one out, mainly because there are so many variations in this song. Also, this is how I hear it. I think its pretty much correct. To get it to sound like the song, you're going to have to be able to hear the rhythm correctly. Mostly it sounds like a funk song played on the acoustic. However, I am pretty sure that this is correct. I've derived the chords from what I hear of the bass line and how they seem to be functioning in the harmony. Please let me know what you think. Tab: Intro: G Em7 D Em7 x3 D Em7x3 D7 Gmaj7 G (320003@1) Am (x02210@1) EmD We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment, We are choosing to be here Vamp on Em right now. (Around 3:30) Em D Em D(octave higher) There's a riff here which you can try by playing Em7 D7 Em7 G Vamp (muted chords) (Around 4:06) Em7 Am D7 Vamp on Em This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality. Embrace this moment. Remember. we are eternal. All this pain is an illusion. Em7 D7 Em7 Cmaj7 Ends on harmonics (G B E) There are a million rhythmic variations in the song and though the chords work, the rhythm is something youre going to have to figure out on your own. As to some of the chord voicings, I play the main riff D at the 5th fret and hammer on to Em7 at the 7th fret. The chords at 3:30 sound nice if you just strum them once playing the triads with the highest note on 7th (Em), 5th(D) and 10th (D) frets (two of these voicings are also used in stairway to heaven). PM me if you want something clarified.
