Loving You Has Made Me Bananas Written and Recorded by Guy Mark Links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Marks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEoLFkT-SKQ&list=PL2BB6A605CBA19974 Marks attracted international attention with the surprise novelty hit song "Loving You Has Made Me Bananas" (also remembered by its lyric "Your red scarf matches your eyes"), charting in April ? May 1968 in the US, which parodied the medleys and other popular music conventions of the big band era. It was based on an old nightclub routine of Marks, featuring an affected band singer of the radio era broadcasting from a remote Pennsylvania town. The song hit number nineteen on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart and number fifty-one on the Hot 100. A re-release did similarly well in 1978, reaching number 25 in the UK Singles Chart. The UK chart showing led to an appearance by Marks on Top of the Pops in May 1978. Original key is Ab, use a capo at fret 1 to play with the track.
