D when my great aunt Jean died G D it was her house that I eyed A moved my stuff in almost straight away D I put down new fancy floors G D and painted walls and doors A D making the place mine to stay. G it washed away D it washed away A my house on Charlotte street it washed away D sewage came up the drain G D 'cause there was a bit of rain A D and the pump station wasn't turned on anyway D I had lots of dear things there G D Mr insurance man I swear A those 16 play-stations are destroyed D and that antique Toby jug G D not to mention my cashmere rug A D and even all my doggies little toys G they washed away D they washed away A everything that I held dear D the floors have started lifting G D and I need a brand new kitchen A D and lots of Febreeze to make the bad smell disappear D well I moved to higher ground G D with what salvage I had found A just this guitar and my dog poppy D and I wrote down this hear song G D because the days are awful long A D when all your stuff has been washed out to sea G it washed away D it washed away A because of the bloody water-board D I spend my time driving round G D sticking to higher ground A D I think I saw my house float past Greenore D this has happened thrice before G D and I'm sure it will happen more A I've photos taken so the damage can be seen D I'm going to sue the board G D and with my nice reward A D I might just buy myself a submarine G,D,A,D,G,D,A,D
