----------------------------------------------------------------- 20 Years In The Dakota by Hole ----------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by Scott H. This alt rock ditty/ode to Yoko Ono was original recorded in 1992 and released as a b-side to "Beautiful Son", and later appeared on their compilation album ''My Body, the Hand Grenade''. All I can find are bass tabs for the song (Courtney Love actually played bass on the recording), but there is nothing as far as guitar is concerned (and there is a guitar playing on the recording). So here you go? I adapted it and tabbed it myself, it's far from perfect but it sounds pretty darn close. If you have any corrections, let me know and I'll add/modify it. The bass is really heavy on the song and it's light on guitar, so keep that in mind. Verses not annotated with a riff are the parts where it's bass only, so don't mind those. Tuning: Standard (play clean unless where noted) She spent 20 years in the Dakota Every single day was black in the Dakota Riff A: e|---------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------| G|-------555-----33333-44444-------------------------| D|--5555-555-333-33333-44444-------------------------| A|--5555-333-333-11111-22222-------------------------| E|--3333-000-111-00000-00000-------------------------| Riff A Riot girls think you stop it You're forever in her debt Riff A Well, I know you haven't saved me And you haven't saved her yet Riff A She spent 20 years like a virus Riff A They want to burn the witches inside us Riff A (heavily distorted) Well, yeah, you don't fuck with the Fabulous Four Riff A (heavily distorted) Or you'll spend the rest of your life picking things up off the floor She's still alive, but I am sure That all the stars belong to her Riff B: e|-------------------------------------------------------------| B|-------------------------------------------------------------| G|-----------55555555------------10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-------| D|-55555555--55555555--55555555--10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-------| A|-55555555--33333333--55555555---8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8-------| E|-33333333--00000000--33333333---0--0--0--0--0--0--0--0-------| Riff B (heavily distorted) On California king-sized beds She's wrapped in rags inside my head This is the the story, this is the story of someone's wife (Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah) Been in black pools her whole life (Nah, nah, nah, nah, I don't remember, I forget) Oh baby, dry your dirty eyes My water breaks like turpentine Riff C: (heavily distorted) x 2 e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|-55555555555555--10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-----------------| A|-55555555555555--10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-----------------| E|-33333333333333---8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8-----------------| The pee-girl burns to be the bride Your ever-lovely suicide Riff C Hey, yah, hey yah Riff C Are they coming for me?
