The song is pretty much three chords throughout.
The only thing that changes is the way you play them.

I use capo 2 because it suits my voice but just adjust accordingly until you find what's 
for you.

For the verse, strum the chord once and let it ring out up until the "To the basement.." 
where you do some soft picking:
