At 43 seconds into it the high pitched chirping noises r made by fluttering the side of the pick 
across the top of the G and B strings, starting the near the bridge and moving toward the neck.
 
Notice the muted notes in the intro even though a note clearly can be heard its just a result 
of Zakk slapping his left hand randomlyon the fretboard round the area of the third and fifth fret.
