i. The popped notes in the second bar of the verse bass figure are played by using
a Stu Hamm-style ?flamenco sweep?. This is a simple technique where a note is
slapped and two strings are consecutively popped by rotating the wrist. Dirk can be
seen to perform this on the Incubus ?Morning View Sessions? DVD.
ii. The fill in the second verse replaces the fourth bar of the verse bass figure
and is played when Brandon sings the line ".. and the Jesus of our age.?
