Overhauled, facelifted, and generally screwed with by Andrew Davis (davisa@rcsn.nb.ca) Added intro, outro, and solo, changed chord names to tablature, and corrected some errors. I've tried to space tabs a bit to give a sense of timing, but it's pretty much impossible if you can't listen to the song while you learn it, so I suggest you play the song on your stereo a few times while you try to play it. In other words, "it is important to play the record over and over, because you learn by listening. Later, we will tell you how to order breakfast just as you would at any colorful German restaurant." (You need to have the KMFDM single 'Mdfmk' to get that one) Anyway, this probably has a couple errors in it, but I think it sounds close enough to the original song. During the verse, the chords given are played by the 2nd guitar, and the intro is played under it by the lead guitar. When you're playing with just one guitar, I find it sounds better hitting the chords. My amp has 3 EQ knobs - bass, middle, and high. I find it sounds most like the recording with treble maxed, middle low, and bass maxed. This makes the most difference in the chorus, as it makes the distortion sound different. Notes: h = hammer-on = slide down ^ = bend p = pull-off / = slide up Intro - Clean electric: e|--------------0-------------| B|-----3-----3---3---1---0h1--| G|--0---0---2-2---2---2-----2-|Play 3 times then go to next part D|---0---0-0---0----2---2-----|as smoothly as possible A|-----------------0---0------| E|-3--3-----------------------| Saw you lookin for a light Face painted cigarette white You asked the cleanest boy you found Couldn't see me turned around e|---------------0----------------------| B|---1---3-1---3--3---1---0h1--1---0h1--| G|----0-----0-2-2--2---2--------0-----0-| D|--2---2------------2---2----2---2-----|Play once, go to chorus A|-3---3-----0------0---0----3---3------| E|--------------------------------------| His fingers stretched across your empty gaze That I just can't escape Chorus: 320000 As the red fades from your wrinkled dress, x32010 A picture of the people you've impressed, 022000 Hangs on a wall around here; x02010 Vision starts to crawl when I'm near. 320000 And the evening waits, x32010 While you get caught up to your own mistakes, 022000 Made up of different lines, x02010 I wouldn't want to keep in my mind. e|-3--5--7-------------------------------------------| B|--------5-----3-3-0h1-1-1-1-1-0---0h1-1-1-1-1-0----| G|-------------------------------2-0-------------2-0-| D|---------------------------------------------------| A|---------------------------------------------------| E|---------------------------------------------------| e|-5--5--7-----------------------------------------------| B|---------5-----3-3-0h1-1-1-3-3-3-5-3-0h1-1-1-3-3-3-5-3-| G|-------------------------------------------------------| D|-------------------------------------------------------| A|-------------------------------------------------------| E|-------------------------------------------------------| 320000 xx0230 I wondered why you'd come around, x02010 Remembering your little girl friend. 320000 xx0230 Your answers kept the crowd at bay, x02010 With compliments unwilling to pay. x32010 320000 xx0230 I have some things I'd like to say to you, x02010 x32010 But they just can't be true. 320000 As the red fades from your wrinkled dress, x32010 Picture of the people you've impressed, 022000 Hangs on a wall around here; x02010 Vision starts to crawl when I'm near. 320000 And the evening waits, x32010 While you get caught up to your own mistakes, 022000 Made up of different lines, x02010 I wouldn't want to keep in my mind.
