This song is really nice and chordy and rather fun to play around a campfire or
something like that. It's not the most popular song she's written but I really
enjoy it quite a lot. SO MANY FEELS. Anyway.

Capo 3, in D# maj. You're going to have to know some basic finger-picking to play
this song. If you really want to, you can use the flick and slap technique, which
is very nicely explained here:

I feel it adds a good percussive touch, but it's not necessary. Other than that,
though, this song only has a few changes that you'll get used to quickly with a
bit of practice.

Chords used:

C F G Am E
0 1 3 0 0
1 1 3 1 0
0 2 0 2 1
2 3 0 2 2
3 3 2 0 2
x 1 3 x 0

A few more notes, there are little hammer-ons she does on C, Am, and G during the
verses. If you listen to the song they're rather prominent. All you've got to do
is unfret that specific string (for C and A it's the D string and for G it's the A
string) and hammer back on in eighth notes. Another thing, during the verses
there's this little chromatic line that moves up a fret from the G chord to the G#
note, then rests on Am. All you have to do is move your finger up the E string
from fret 3 to fret 4 on beats 1 and 3 before making the switch.

(Intro) C w/ hammer-ons x4

(Verse 1)
                 F C
I forgot what it felt like to feel so alive
                 F G (G#) Am
So I'm packing my suitcase and changing my mind
                   F G Am G F
I forgot what it's like to look the things you want right between the eyes
                                      G (here w/ hammer-ons)
It's never been so hard to say goodbye
                F C
I'm back to the basics and waiting for signs
                F G (G#) Am
I'm praying for patience and falling behind
     F G Am G F
It's not the way I meant to be, it's just how I'm designed
  F G C
I get so tired of running out of time

(Chorus)
C E F C
I'm missing out on all the places I could go
    F C F G (G#)
The people I could know, the nights so not alone
Am C E Am
We'll never make it and it wasn't meant to be
G F G C
But I'll wait if you?ll wait for me

(Verse 2)
                F C
I'm trying to remember your face in my hands
           F G (G#) Am
I wanted adventure, you met my demands
  F G Am G F
I told myself the day I left, ?I want it but I can't?
  F G
I fell for something far away again
                  F C
I guess that it's pointless, but I mean what I say
          F G (G#) Am G F
I never expected through all this time that I could be okay
                         G Am G F
Yeah, all the things you do to me, the promise and the pain
                   G C
I wish with all my heart that I could stay

(Chorus)

(Verse Relapse into Bridge)
                 F C
I forgot what it felt like to feel so alive
                 F G (G#) Am
So I'm packing my suitcase and changing my mind
                   F G Am G F
I forgot what it's like to look the things you want right between the eyes
            C G Am F C G Am F
And say goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

(Chorus)

C E F C
I'm missing out on all the places I could go
    F C F G (G#)
The people I could know, the nights so not alone
Am C E Am
We'll never make it and it wasn't meant to be
G F G Am
But I'll wait if you?ll wait for me
G F G C
But I'll wait if you?ll wait for me
