Corrections to existing TABS:

1) Richard Cook's TAB (in D, capo on 2nd fret) lists the chords of the

    bridge as:

    Dm G

    She ... anywhere

    Dm G A

    I ... chair.

which contains 2 errors. To be played in D the chords should be:

    Dm G

    She ... anywhere

    Dm Em7 A7

    I ... chair.

2) Robert Hall's TAB (in E) lists the chords of the bridge as:

    Am D

    She ... anywhere

    Am D F#

    I   ...    chair ---> verse (E riff above)

which are in the wrong key. To be played in E the chords should be:

    Em A

    She ... anywhere

    Em Fm7 B7

    I ... chair.

I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.

I sat on a rug, biding my time

    drinking her wine.

We talked until two, and then she said

    it's time for bed.

[repeat 1st measure]

She told me she worked in the morning

    and started to laugh.

I told her I didn't

and crawled off to sleep in the bath.

And, when I awoke, I was alone

    this bird had flown.

So, I lit a fire, isn't it good

    Norwegian wood.

[repeat 1st measure]

notes:

1. Spacing doesn't indicate timing - I just lined the tab up with the lyrics.

2. Chords are tabbed for their first beat only. The D chord is strummed down,

up, down. Note the hammer-on at the end of each measure.

3. Holding the D chord, use your pinky for 3rd fret notes and index finger

for 1st fret notes, middle finger for 3rd fret on the A string.

4. Have an accompanist play along without a capo:

     E D E D [bridge] Em A Em A B

Alternate TAB: Norwegian Wood

This song is in E; you can play it in D with a capo, but

I don't have one, so I figured out this version. It lets

you play the rhythm and lead guitar parts at the same time:

To play this as it sounds on the record, put a capo on
the second fret.

(So when I write D I mean play a D shape at the capo i.e
two frets higher than it normally is)

There is a solo by another guitar, but it is a different one, can't think of the name of
it off hand. This little bit of tab is also played by a basic accoustic in the backround.

IN MY LIFE
(Lennon/McCartney)
Rubber Soul (1965)

This song is in A, but much simpler to play in G. So capo
at the second fret. There are some cool things in this song
that I can't really include in a guitar tab, like the incredible
bass line and the keyboard solo. I only wish I could play that solo.
George Martin played that right? Note the synchopated G7 at the end
of the first and third line of the verses. I think that is so cool.
Purists can transcribe this back into A.
