Artist: Chevelle
Song: Open
Album: Point #1
Tabbed by: Ryan Sanders (ryan@ricknyephotography.com)

Man, I'm just on a Chevelle kick today I guess. If you've ever heard this song, you
know that these guys can rock!! This is all instrumental, just a 2-minute intro to
Point #1. It's not too hard, here it is!

Drop-D Tuning

OPENER... THING...
E|---------------------------|
B|---------------------------|
G|---------------------------|
D|---------------------------|
A|---------------------------|
D|-0000-3-000000-3-000000-3--|
palm mute all of this... you get the idea. blah blah play that
over and over again.. then do this:

umm.. SLIDE RIFF
E|------------|
B|------------|
G|------------|
D|------------|
A|------------|
D|-3/14-14-14-|
(no palm mute)
you have to slide from 3 to 14, it's a really cool effect. just hold out
the note on the 14th fret for.. what.. 8 bars? sometimes he'll do a slight bend
near the end of the 8 bars.

then play that first thing again, you go back and forth between those two riffs there.
then there will be a break where the high-hat plays 8 times, then the guitar does
this:

BANG YOUR HEAD RIFF
E|--------|
B|--------|
G|--------|
D|-0--0-0-|
A|-0--0-0-|
D|-0--0-0-|
(no palm mute)
okay it's not really a riff. but you play this for 8 bars, and then
go play the "slide riff" for 8 bars, blah blah, switch back and forth, you got it.
in the "bang your head riff" you need to really kick the first stroke, and then the
next one is like a pickup-stroke. i hope that makes sense.

Anyway, that's it. This entire tab will make no sense to you unless you've heard
the song and are listening to it right now. E-mail me with corrections, yeah you
know the drill.
