Artist: Dashboard Confessional
Song: The Best Deceptions
Album: The Places We Have Come To Fear The Most
Tabbed By: Sean Connelly
Tuning: STANDARD!!! + Capo on 1st fret

Ok, first of all, yes I know this isn't the correct tab. The correct tab uses a weird tuning.

The problem with that is that I have to tune my guitar all out of whack to
play it. So I've figured out this version which sounds almost exactly like
the original song using standard tuning with the capo on the first fret.

All numbers that are "(1)" are from the capo and you don't have to put your
finger on it. All normal numbers are counted like a normal standard
tuning (i.e., I don't change the numbers because of the capo). I don't
know if I type it right, I just like it better that way because then the
5th/7th/9th/12th fret always has the dot(s).

Anyways...

Intro:
e|--------------|---------------|---------------|--------------|
B|--------------|---------------|---------------|--------------|
G|-------(1)----|--------(1)----|--------(1)----|--------------|
D|-----------3--|------------3--|------3-----3--|--4--3-(1)-3--| x 2
A|-----4--------|------4--------|--(1)----------|--------------|
E|--4-----------|--(1)----------|---------------|--------------|

Verse (listen to song for strumming): "I heard about..."
e|--------|----------|---------|-------------------|
B|--------|----------|---------|-------------------|
G|--------|----------|---------|-------------------|
D|--3...--|--(1)..---|---3...--|---4---3--(1)--3---| x 6
A|--4...--|---3...---|--(1)..--|--(1)-(1)-(1)-(1)--|
E|--4...--|---4...---|---4...--|---4---4---4---4---|

Chorus: "Don't you see..."
e|--(1)..--|--(1)..--|--4--|--2--|
B|---2...--|---2...--|--4--|--2--|
G|--(1)..--|--(1)..--|--5--|--3--|
D|---3...--|---3...--|--6--|--4--| x 4
A|---4...--|---4...--|--6--|--4--|
E|---4...--|---4...--|--4--|--2--|

"So kiss me hard..."
Not really sure how to do that part, I usually just skip the high-pitched
sound here. But if you want to play it, play:
e|--9---|
B|--9---|
G|--10--|
D|--11--|
A|--11--|
E|--9---|

..Then resume chorus on the second beat and play chorus 5 times after that.

Intro.

Verse.

Chorus.

Ending: "I'm waiting for blood..."
e|--(1)..--|--(1)..--|--(1)..--|--(1)..-(1)..--|
B|---2...--|--(1)..--|---2...--|--(1)..-(1)..--|
G|--(1)..--|--(1)..--|---3...--|--(1)..-(1)..--|
D|---3...--|---3...--|---4...--|--(1)..--3...--| x 4
A|---4...--|---4...--|---4...--|---4...--4...--|
E|---4...--|---4...--|--(1)..--|---4...--4...--|

End on:
e|--(1)--|
B|---2---|
G|--(1)--|
D|---3---|
A|---4---|
E|---4---|

That's it! Try it out before rating it - I know it's not how the band
plays it but it really is the same notes (except for the really low notes
and harmonics).

Enjoy :-)
