NOTES:
Another gorgeous song with a lilting jazz feel...
Although the song has easy chords, the key to the sound is Lianne's finger-
picking, which you just have to practise, I'm afraid.
It's not enough to know the chords; the song has to sway...

VERSE:
Notes:
Lianne picks the open Em9/Em7 chords more or less as in the guitar figure.
An alternative is to find a strumming pattern for the open Em9 - Em7.
Play around with these chords and try to find a pattern that works for you.

Guitar Figure 1

    Em9 Em7 Em9 Em7
---------------------------------------
---------7------------------7----------
*------7----7---9---7-----7----7---9--*
*----5--------5---------5--------5----*
---7------------------7----------------
---------------------------------------

On the Gm7 chord she frets on and off the 2nd string at the 5th fret.

Chords:
Em9 075770
Em7 075900
Gm7 353333
A7 575655

                   Em9-Em7
Sometimes when you talk, mm-hmm,
                                             Gm7
And I'm your Betty Boo, and we're singing it close
Like the girls in Belleville rendez-vous
  Em9-Em7
I wish that we could somehow freeze the frame
                   Gm7
But this isn't the silver-screen, oh no,
           A7 Gm7 A7
There's no pause, no re-wind

CHORUS:
Notes:
The chords follow the same picking pattern as for the the VERSEs.

Chords:
Em9 075770
Em7 075900
Gm7 353333
A7 575655

Em9-Em7
Time to find out where the story goes,
Sadly too hip with the curtains closed,
Gm7
Watching ourselves au cin?ma
Em9-Em7
Taking our positions as the cameras roll,
You'll be the guy, I'll be the girl,
Gm7 A7
Watching ourselves au cin?ma, cin?ma-ah

VERSE:
Chords:
Em9 075770
Em7 075900
Gm7 353333
A7 575655

                  Em9-Em7
Now we cut to the girl, alone
She's found on the Brooklyn Bridge
                   Gm7
And she's truly at home,
Oh, her step has a whole new spring
           Em9
Big bright lights of the city are shining for her
There's a thirst in her eyes, and her heart,
                           Gm7
'Though she thinks to look back, back, she won't...
           A7 Gm7 A7 Gm7 A7 Gm7 A7
There's no pause, no re-wind; no pause, no re-wind

CHORUS:
Chords:
Em9 075770
Em7 075900
Gm7 353333
A7 575655

Em9-Em7
Time to find out where the story goes,
Sadly too hip with the curtains closed,
Gm7
Watching ourselves au cin?ma
Em9-Em7
Taking our positions as the cameras roll,
You'll be the guy, I'll be the girl,
Gm7 A7 Gm7 A7
Watching ourselves au cin?ma, cin?ma-ah

[repeat CHORUS: this time play Em9 on "cin?ma-ah"]

CODA:

Finger-pick as for VERSE/CHORUS.

Em9-Em7
...Where the story goes...
                     Gm7
...With the curtains closed...
                             Em9-Em7
Watching ourselves au cin?ma...
Em9-Em7
Taking our positions as the cameras roll,
You'll be the guy, I'll be the girl,

Watching ourselves au cin?ma, cin?ma-ah
