A5 A5 E5 A5

      A5
Well, early this morning it dawned on me
                                 E5
The kind of man she needed me to be

She made a list and laid it there, beside me on the bed
            D5 E5
Now, what I shoulda done, keeps running through my head
                     A5
Well, I shoulda done this

And I shoulda done that

Shoulda been there

She'd a never left
             E5
Shoulda been hanging on every word
                A5
She ever had to say

But, it's a little too late

She's a little too gone

She's a little too right

I'm a little too wrong
           E5
Now, would be a good time to change
                       A5
But, it's a little too late

A5 A5 E5 A5

     A5
Last night I came home at a quarter till three
                                        E5
And, to my surprise - she wasn't mad at me

I guess she finally realized, not to worry - I'd be home
       D5 E5
Then I realized this morning, she was gone
                     A5
Well, I shoulda done this

And I shoulda done that

Shoulda been there

She'd a never left
             E5
Shoulda been hanging on every word
                A5
She ever had to say

But, it's a little too late

She's a little too gone

She's a little too right

I'm a little too wrong
           E5
Now, would be a good time to change
                       A5
But, it's a little too late

Solo

A5 A5 E5 A5 A5 A5 A5 E5

                        A5
Well, it's a little too late

She's a little too gone

She's a little too right

I'm a little too wrong
           E5
Now, would be a good time to change
                       A5
But, it's a little too late
E5
Now would be the time to change
                       A5
But, it's a little too late
