chords or was able to translate the original version on piano by Morrissey. However I
was able to translate an almost identical (Chord wise) acoustic version by Colin Meloy
on "Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey." I found help with lyrics from "It May All End Tomorrow"

I've Changed My Plea to Guilty
from Viva Hate (UK) and My early Burglary Years

Intro:

C/E G6 Am/E Gb G6 (2X)

Verse 1:

C/E (x3111x@5) G6 (320000@1) Am/E (x02210@1) Gb (244322@1) G6 (320000@1) I'm standing in the dock. With my innocent hand on my heart.

F (133211@1) G6 (320000@1) C/E (x3111x@5)C7/E F (133211@1) G6 (320000@1) C (x32010@1) C7/E
I've changed my plea. I've changed my plea to guilty.

        F (133211@1) E (022100@1) Am/E (x02210@1) F (133211@1) Gb (244322@1) G6Because (320000@1)freedom is wasted on me. See how your rules spoil the game?

Verse 2:

C/E (x3111x@5) G6 (320000@1)Am/E (x02210@1) Gb (244322@1) G6 (320000@1) C/E (x3111x@5) Outside there is a pain. Emotional air raids exhausted my heart,

         G6 (320000@1) Am/E (x02210@1)Gb (244322@1)G6 (320000@1) F (133211@1) G6 (320000@1) C/E (x3111x@5)C7/E
and it's safer to be inside. So, I'm changing my plea,

F (133211@1) G6 (320000@1) C/E (x3111x@5)C7/E F (133211@1) E (022100@1) Am/E (x02210@1)and no one can dissuade me. Because freedom was wasted on me.

F (133211@1) Gb (244322@1) G6See (320000@1)how your rules spoil the game?

Verse 3:

C/E (x3111x@5) G6 (320000@1) Am/E (x02210@1) Gb (244322@1) G6 (320000@1)
Something I have learned, if there is one thing in life I've observed,

C/E (x3111x@5) G6 (320000@1) Am/E (x02210@1) Gb (244322@1)G6 (320000@1) F (133211@1) G6 (320000@1) C/E (x3111x@5)C7/E
it's that everybody's got somebody. Ooh no, not me.

F (133211@1) G6 (320000@1) C/E (x3111x@5) C7/E F (133211@1) E (022100@1) Am/E (x02210@1)So I've changed my plea to guilty. And reason and freedom is a waste.

       F (133211@1) Gb (244322@1)G6 (320000@1) C/EIt's (x3111x@5)a lot like life.
