"So Says I" - The Shins - From the album "Chutes Too Narrow"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: JT Sackett
Email: jtsackett@cableone.net

Tuning: eBGDAE

This is totally by ear and I encourage and welcome any corrections!

Intro: Start out with one strum of this D something (maybe a D2?) chord. Then pick each
string, starting with the G string, and work your way upward. Listen to the song to get
the rhythm correct.

The D2? Chord
e|----5-----------------------------------------------------------|
B|----5-----------------------------------------------------------|
G|----7-----------------------------------------------------------|
D|----7-----------------------------------------------------------|
A|----5-----------------------------------------------------------|
E|----5-----------------------------------------------------------|

Verses:

Then strum back and forth between Am and the D2 chord. Do this 3x
      Am D2(??)
e|-----55555555----55555555---------------------------------------|
B|-----55555555----55555555---------------------------------------|
G|-----55555555----77777777---------------------------------------|
D|-----77777777----77777777---------------------------------------|
A|-----77777777----55555555---------------------------------------|
E|-----55555555----55555555---------------------------------------|

Then go to a G, and pick each string from G to the low E as you did in the intro.
    G
e|---3333333-------------|
B|---3333333-------------|
G|---4444444-------------|
D|---5555555-------------|
A|---5555555-------------|
E|---3333333-------------| Repeat this whole pattern (Am to D2 to G) 2x

Chorus: Play a higher C chord on the 8th fret, as well as the F chord. Listen to
the song to hear the chord changes between the C and F.
    C F
e|---88888888--------88888888---------------------------------------------------|
B|---88888888--------1010101010-------------------------------------------------|
G|---99999999--------1010101010-------------------------------------------------|
D|---1010101010------1010101010-------------------------------------------------|
A|---1010101010------88888888---------------------------------------------------|
E|---88888888--------88888888---------------------------------------------------|
Then go to a G, but stop playing for the: "ooh-ooh" part.

e|---333333333------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---333333333------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|---444444444------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---555555555------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---555555555------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---333333333------------------------------------------------------------------|

Bridge:
I am guessing it's C to Am, but I may be wrong. Once again, try playing a higher
fretted C and go to the Am on the 5th fret. Play total down-strokes throughout
this bridge. Play in eighths.
    C Am
e|---88888888---------------55555555--------------------------------------------|
B|---88888888---------------55555555--------------------------------------------|
G|---99999999---------------55555555--------------------------------------------|
D|---1010101010101010-------77777777--------------------------------------------|
A|---1010101010101010-------77777777--------------------------------------------|
E|---88888888---------------55555555--------------------------------------------|

Then at the end of the bridge, go to a G, and give it a powerful
and quick down-stroke 3 times. Like an eighth note going "1 and 2!"
    G
e|---333------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---333------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|---444------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---555------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---555------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---333------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Then go to final verse, then mellow it a little on final chorus, then play Am to the
D2 (??) chord for a few bars, go to the G, pick it like the two other times, then end on Am.

Hope this works. It sounds and looks pretty accurate. And like I said, any corrections
are welcomed and encouraged! Thanks!
