                             "Enter The Young"
                              (Terry Kirkman)

Jim Yester, in the liner notes to the Japanese _From The Original Master
Tapes_ CD (Warner/Pioneer WPCP-3536):

This song was the group's selection for the follow-up single to "Along
Comes Mary". However, the regional breakout of "Cherish" in the midwest
changed that choice. The version for the "HITS" album was re-cut [AWR:
I know - it blows dead bears] and not from the first album. This could
have been the theme song for the 60's youth movement.

Intro:

[guitar, doubled with bass and glockenspiel, 2X]:

Verse 1:

	            D
	(Here they come, yeah)

Well, some are walkin', some are ridin'
	            D
	(Here they come, yeah)
	              C
And some are flyin', some just glidin'
	    G F#m Em
Released after years of being kept in hidin'
	          G Em A
They're climbin' up the ladder rung by rung

	G C Bm A [electric piano]

Chorus:

	[A G Bb] D	[single notes; bass doubled w/bells]

	Now they've learned to think
	            D
	Enter the young (yeah)
	                C
More than you think they think
	     G Em C
Not only learned to think but to care
	    Em A
Not only learned to think but to dare

	            D
	(Here they come)
	               C
And some with facts and some with visions
	      G Bm Em
Of a place to multiply without the use of divisions

To win a prize that no-one's ever won

Well, some are laughin', some are cryin'
	            G
	(Here they come, yeah)

[fuzz guitar sustains open D next three lines]

	              F G
And some are doin', some are tryin'
	          F
Some are sellin', some are buyin'
	           F Am
Some are livin', some are dyin'
	       F Asus4 A
