Notes: This song was written a couple of months into The High As The Moon Tour in 1992.
the VH-1 Behind The Music episode, Chris described the song being about paranoia. It was
written and recorded as an acoustic song, but took on a different character as a heavy 
number when played live. by the entire band. It was first recorded at Daniel
Kingsway Studios in New Orleans on October 11, 1992. Notable for its unreleased status, 
was performed on Saturday Night Live on December 12, 1992.

In January, 1994 after undergoing some slight lyric changes, it was recorded during the
for Tall. There are two known "versions" from the Conways sessions. The first one
on January 16, 1994 and then compiled on the January 25 Mix. Its got guide vocals and no 
(like the maraccas). The instrumental track was overdubbed with new vocals and a few
things on February 2, 1994 and this version was used for Tall. A different version was 
re-recorded for Amorica. In early 1995, a long outro jam was developed around the refrain 
never very far away" and has been played with that arrangement a majority of the time since.

In 2005, Chris began improvising verse over the outro jam. The lyrics for his various
from the 2005 and 2006 tours can be found in Crowesbase.
