Brand New - Untitled Demo #1 Tabbed by Jesse King sprocket87@gmail.com Wednesday, June 7 2006 This is the first track on the Brand New's latest demo album that has been floating around for some time. It's a pretty basic song to play, but it is one of my favorites on this album. Let me know of any corrections/comments, thanks! Standard Tuning: E|A|D|G|B|e This song doesn't have a standard verse/chorus/verse structure to me, so I'm just going to break it down as 3 "verses" and put each chord progression. There's just one main progression but a couple variations, so I'll lay the basic timing out over the lyrics as well. Just listen to the song for the exact timing since it's pretty straightforward. They do a bit of fingerpicking mixed with the chords, but I'll leave that up to you since it's pretty generic anyway. Basic chord progressions: ------------------------------ Verse 1: G C G D Am C G Em Am C G Em Verse 2: G C G D Am C G Em Am C G Verse 3: G C G D Am C G Em Am C G C Am C G Lyrics accomp: ---------------------- G C well i wrote your name and burned it, G D see the color of the flame, Am C G Em and it burned out the whole spectrum as if you were everything, Am mine just burned gold, C a normal flame, G Em i am not anything, G C G D and all that i remember is the feeling of waking up, Am C G Em when we were kids you were the sun to which my eyes would not adjust, Am c G when we were kids i was a fountain you could never drink enough, G C then came all the boys who swept you up, G D played careless with your heart, Am C G Em and every night there was a new girl sitting beside me in my car, Am C something dies when you grow older, G C but you do the best you can, Am i am glad, C i am glad, G you found a good man.
