Artist: Coldplay Title: Green Eyes Album: A Rush of Blood to the Head Transcribed by: Mike Friday Email: gatrief13@yahoo.com The trick to playing it my way is to play with capo 2 with the capo on only 5 strings, leaving the high e open. The effecitve tuning would be F#, B, E, A, C#, e,but for purposes of my rapidly disappearing sanity, I will transcribe the chords with the string names in mind, and use the actual chord names. E A D G B e A 3 x 0 0 0 0 E/G# 2 x 0 2 3 x Bmadd11 x 0 2 2 1 0 Bm11-7 x 0 2 0 1 0 Dsus2 x 3 x 0 1 0 or x 3 0 0 1 0 G6 1 x 3 2 1 0 use thumb to press down the bottom E and mute the A I checked the book and tonality wise, the chords are almost exactly the same. The reason I capo it in such a manner is that the high e has to stay open for most of the chords to work, especially the Bm chords, which are key to the song's success. Also, the Bm11-7 is simply a variation of the Bmadd11, used quickly at the end of some phrases. You should, just by listening, be able to pick up the changes. Especially listen for the G6. Bmadd11 Dsus2 And honey you should know A G6 Dsus2 That I could never go on without you I think there's an Asus4-A drop at the end of the phrase back into the Bmadd11 on "Green Eyes..." That's about the trickiest part. Have fun with the song!
