    Help Is Around The Corner

  • Artist:

    Coldplay

This is one of my favorite songs to sing and play on the acoustic.

It's the Coldplay bside Help Is Round The Corner!

Normally this song is in open C# tuning just like God Put A Smile Upon Your Face,
but I figured out a way to get almost the exact same results with a capo and
tuning your E down to C#.

Ok so first tune your low E to C#.

Now grab your capo and put it on reverse,
so that the first five EBGDA strings are capo'd on the first fret.

Make sure you have the low C# uncapo'd and that everything rings out clearly without buzzing.

Notes are NOT tabbed relative to the capo!

So 1's on the first 5 strings are opens on the capo.

Now here are the chords!

 E|--1--------1--------1--------1--------1-------x--------|
 B|--2--------2--------2--------2--------2-------6--------|
 G|--1--------3--------1--------3--------3-------6--------|
 D|--3--------3--------3--------4--------1-------6--------|
 A|--4--------4--------4--------x--------1-------8--------|
C#|--0--------0--------4--------5--------2-------7--------|

[ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
Stuck here, in the middle of nowhere
       [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
With a headache, and a heavy heart
      [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
Well, nothing was going quite right here
        [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
And I'm tired, I can't play my part

[ch]C#[/ch]/[ch]F[/ch] [ch]F#M7[/ch]
          Oh, come on, come on
           D#7sus2
Oh, what a state I'm in
[ch]F#M7[/ch]
     Oh, come on, come on
             D#7sus2
Why won't it just sink in?

    [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
Oh, my head won't stop aching
        [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
And I'm sat here, licking my wounds
        [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
And I'm shattered, but it really doesn't matter
         [ch]C#[/ch] [ch]C#6[/ch]
Cause my rescue is gonna be here soon

I'd say it's pretty accurate, although I had to compromise a bit with the C#/G# chord,
because the actual chord in this tuning would be impossible to play. :(

Enjoy! =[ch]D[/ch]
