• Song:

    John Wilson

  • Artist:

    Craig Cardiff

Hey guys, this is my first tab, I think it?s fairly accurate, I just had some issues
with the chords at the ends of lines, so their placement won't be accurate.
Great song by Craig, studio version is capo 1 but I?ve seen him play it open live.
Here?s a link to the song on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqU0O9Kqipw , or you
can buy it on iTunes.
Oh yeah, and the G in the verse sounds best played as a bar chord.
Have fun!

Intro:
D G

Verse 1:

D
Tell me, oh it was the chemistry,
D
That broke open the ribs of your chest,
               G
And let the heart out,
G
To wander into such recklessness,
                    D
It's dangerous out there in the dark.
D
Meanwhile, back there in Ontario,
D
John Wilson had gone,
                  G
Made all the other, boyfriends, look so terrible
G
They're terrible, oh my.

Chorus:

A G
This is no dress rehersal, no soundcheck,
                D
This is a show.
A
If all you wanna do is practice,
G Bm A
Then maybe, oh, you should let go,
G
Let go.

Verse 2:

D
And all the countries lined all their words up,
D
End upon end,
           G
Were embaressed when they discovered
G
They had murdered the simple perfect language like,
D
Kiss me, oh and I'll kiss you too.
D
Love me, and I will love you.
        G
And be gentle with me,
G
I'm scared, I'm as scared, oh, as you.

Chorus:

A G
This is no dress rehersal, no soundcheck,
                D
This is a show.
A
If all you wanna do is practice,
G Bm A
Then maybe, oh, you should let go,
G
Let go.

Bridge:

G D G D A
This is the sound, of the heart unravelling.
A G Bm A
               Bm A G
This is the sound, oh, of the heart, of the heart unravelling

Verse 3:

D
Love said call me, oh, I am free,
D
I am free not cheap.
      G
It's important to me that you know,
G
There's a difference, oh, I know you know.
D
Love tried to hitchhike a ride from Thunder Bay,
         G
Had greyhounded most of the ride,
G
And sat at the back of the bus by the cans where,
D
All the guys outa jail would sit and drink themselves to sleep,
G
And love held their hands,
G
And love held their hands,
                      A
The whole way home.
                        G
Through every little town,
G
That did not want them back.
A D Bm A
Love leaned in, and love was just like that (?)
A G
Just like that

Chorus:

A G
This is no dress rehersal, no soundcheck,
                D
This is a show.
A
If all you wanna do is practice,
G Bm A
Then maybe, oh, you should let go,
G
Let go.
