• Song:

    Just Feel Better

  • Artist:

    Damon Johnson

  • Album:

    Release

This is the original version of the song covered by Carlos Santana and Steven Tyler.
This version has a much more somber mood than the more upbeat sounding Santana one. I
have to admit I like Damon's version much better.

Tune down A 1/2 step (D# G# C# F# A# D#, also noted as Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb).

All chords that I named below are relative to standard tuning (even though this song is
a 1/2 step down) so that I wouldn't have to give chord names that many (including me)
would be unfamiliar with.

Chords used:
      E A D G B E
Am x 0 2 2 1 0
C x 3 2 0 1 0
F x 3 3 2 1 1
G 3 2 0 0 3 3
Em 0 2 2 0 0 0
F# 2 4 4 3 2 2

Intro: Am

Am C
She says I feel stranded,
              F
and I can't tell anymore
         C Am
if I'm coming or I'm going.
Am C
It's not how I planned it.
              F
I've got the key to the door,
        C
but it just won't open.

G
I know, I know, I know
        Am
part of me says let it go
            F
that life happens for a reason.
G
I don't, I don't, I don't
             Am
because it never worked before,
      F C
and this time I'll try anything to just feel better.

C G
Tell me what to do.
                        Am
You know I can't see through the haze around me.
      F C
I'll do anything to just feel better.
C G
I can't find my way.
                  Am
God, I need a change.
      F Am
I'll do anything to just feel better, any little thing to just feel better.

Am C
She said I need you to hold me.
              F
I'm a little far from the shore,
         C Am
and I'm afraid of sinking.
Am C
You're the only one who knows me
            F
and who doesn't ignore
         C
that my soul is weeping.

G
I know, I know, I know
        Am
part of me says let it go,
      F
everything must have its season.
G
'Round and 'round we go.
        Am
Every day's the one before,
      F C
and this time I'll try anything to just feel better.

C G
Tell me what to do.
                        Am
You know I can't see through the haze around me.
      F C
I'll do anything to just feel better.
C G
I can't find my way.
                  Am
God, I need a change.
      F Em
I'll do anything to just feel better, any little thing to just feel better.

Em F#
And I'm tired of holding on
  C G Em
to all the things I ought to leave behind
Em F#
It's really getting old, yeah.
   C G (one strum) C (one strum)
I think I need a little help this time.

(for this chorus, one strum for each chord, and let ring)

(C is ringing) G
Tell me what to do.
                       Am
You know I can't see through the haze around me.
      F C
I'll do anything to just feel better.
(C still ringing) G
I can't find my way.
                 Am
Yes, I need a change.
F (back to normal strum pattern) C
I'll do anything to just feel better, any little thing to just feel better.

C G
Tell me what to do.
                      Am
You know I can't see through the haze around me.
      F C
I'll do anything to just feel better.
C G
I can't find my way.
                  Am
God, I need a change.
      F C
I'll do anything to just feel better, any little thing to just feel better.
