Am (x02210@1)                            Cpeople (x32010@1)swirling and teeming. It seemed so exciting, but now it seems like such a blight.

         C (x32010@1)                                 AmRoad (x02210@1)and all that was there was some old cemetery.

    Am (x02210@1)                                                 CNow (x32010@1)I don't live there but there's too many stores, some apartments, and a Sunoco.

               Am (x02210@1)                                      Cforced (x32010@1)it all into a grid until it looked like the funny pages.

     C (x32010@1)                               AmWith (x02210@1)every trace of life, it seems, confined within a frame
    C (x32010@1)                                Amthe (x02210@1)faces move from day to day but the strips all look the same.
        Am (x02210@1)                          CAnd (x32010@1)the punchlines are resoundingly unfunny
         Am (x02210@1)                                  Cfor (x32010@1)those trapped in this architecture of easy money.

       C (x32010@1)                                  AmAnd (x02210@1)it feels like this could all come to no good.
             C (x32010@1)                                           AmThe (x02210@1)kids who populate these culdesacs will never know what stood beneath those
Am (x02210@1)                  C (x32010@1)cookie cutter houses: fields and streams and woods.
               Am (x02210@1)                                CThey'll (x32010@1)sit in cars and wait for mom to drive them out of this boring neighborhood.
