Tuning: Standard (w/ capo on the third fret)

Ok, so this version of Blame It On Cain is at the end of my copy of My Aim Is True. I
been able to find any tabs of it online so here we are.

Elvis Costello plays this version on a single acoustic guitar with a capo on the 3rd
The chord names that I wrote above the lyrics are the chord names WITHOUT a capo, so with
capo on the 3rd fret, just form those regular chords.

The lyrics for this version are also a little different than the full-band version of
It On Cain. Hope someone finds this useful.

D G D G
Once upon a time, I had a little money
           D G
Government burglars took it long
               D
before I could mail it to you
                B C B
But you are the only one
                            D G D
Now I can't let it slip away
   Ab A Ab A
So if the man with the ticker tape
              Ab A
tries to take it
                            D
well this is what I'm gonna say

            Bm
Blame it on Cain
                  D D7
Don't blame it on me
    G A
It's nobody's fault
       G D
But we need somebody to burn
            Bm
Blame it on Cain
G D
Please don't blame it on me
             G A
It's nobody's fault
       G D
But it just seems to be his turn

        D G
Oh well if I was a saint with
 D G
a silver cup
        D G
and the money got low
         D
we could always heat it up
            B
or trade it in
    C B D
       D
But then the radio that heaven will be wired to your purse.
     Ab A Ab
then you can run down the wave band,
A Ab
coast to coast, hand in hand.
A Ab A
Bad to worse, curse for curse,
                G C G
don't be dissatisfied.
          A D
So you're not satisfied.

            Bm
Blame it on Cain
                  D D7
Don't blame it on me
    G A
It's nobody's fault
       G D
But we need somebody to burn
            Bm
Blame it on Cain
G D
Please don't blame it on me
             G A
It's nobody's fault
       G D
But it just seems to be his turn

             D G
I think I've lived a little too long
       D G
on the outskirts of town
            D G
I think I'm going insane
     D B C B
from talking to myself for so long
                          D G D
Oh, but I've never been accused
    Ab A Ab
But when they step upon your face,
A
They wear that good look grin.
 Ab A Ab
I gotta break out one weekend
         A Ab
Before I do somebody in.
    A Ab
But every single time
  A
I feel a little stronger,
  B
A voice says it's a crime
    A
But how much longer?

            Bm
Blame it on Cain
                  D D7
Don't blame it on me
    G A
It's nobody's fault
       G D
But we need somebody to burn
            Bm
Blame it on Cain
G D
Please don't blame it on me
             G A
It's nobody's fault
       G D
But it just seems to be his turn
