I posted this recently, but it is improved in some points. (Anyone tried to transpose the D-Bassline and chord two frets up without breaking her/his fingers?) Here we go (lyrics from vacs.uwp.edu): LAY DOWN SALLY (Eric Clapton, Marcy Levy & George Terry) A There is nothing ... D in wanting you to ... A I know you've got ... D but won't you make ... E And don't you ... A D Lay down, Sally, and ... E A Don't you think you want ... A D Lay down, Sally, no need ... E A I've been trying all night ... Basic pattern: It is possible to play it with the left thumb and middle finger and a full A chord on the higher strings. They may be strummed occasionally. The best way to play it is using a plectron and middle finger with the right hand. Transpose the first two bars to D also. The bar 3 and 4 contain the catch phrase that is only played over A. A A/F# A/E A/F# etc..
