The Format
"The First Single (Cause A Scene)"
Interventions + Lullabies

This is how to play the album version of The Format's "The First Single";
this is exactly how the song is played live, as well. There is no need for
a capo. This is how I play the song, also, so I wrote the tab out and
then played it again just to make sure it sounds good -- it does.

I included all chords/lyrics, because the verses and choruses don't play out
exactly the same each time, and when I'm learning a song, I don't like to
read a lazy tab. Enjoy, this song is not difficult for a beginner to learn.

(Note, you'll easily be able to tell if your guitar is in tune with this
song's intro: the fifth fret on B and the open E note should ring in
harmony, obviously.)

[Verse]
C#m A E
I can't stand to think about a heart so big it hurts like hell
C#m A E
Oh my God, I gave my best, but for three whole years to end like this
     C#m A E C#m A E
Well do you want to fall apart? I can't stop if you cant start
C#m A E C#m
Do you want to fall apart? Oh, I could if you can
                       A E
try to fix what I've undone 'Cause I hate what I've become!

[Chorus]
E B
You know me, or you think you do, you just don't seem to see
A C#m B
I've been waiting all this time to be, something I can't define
         E B A
So let's cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet, or something,
                          C#m B C#m A E
Yeah something, I've just got to get myself over me

[Verse]
C#m A E
I could stand to do without, all the people I have left behind
C#m A
What's the point in going around when it's a straight line baby,
  E
A straight line down
         C#m A E C#m A E
So let's make a list of who we need, it's not much if anything
C#m A E C#m
Let's make a list of who we need and we'll throw it away
          B A E
'Cause we don't need anyone, no we don't need anyone!

[Chorus]
E B
You know me, or you think you do you just don't seem to see
A C#m B
I've been waiting all this time to be, something I can't define
         E B A
So let's cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet or something,
                          C#m B A
Yeah something, I've just got to get myself over me
                       E B A
And I hate what I've become.

[Bridge]
             E
You know the night life is just not for me
               B A
'Cause all you really need are a few good friends
              E C#m
Don't want to go out and be on my own,
              A E
You know they started something I can't stand
          C#m E A E
You leave for the city, well count me out
       B
'Cause all this time is wasted on, well, everything I've done

[Chorus]
E B
You know me, or you think you do, you just don't seem to see
A C#m B
I've been waiting all this time to be, something I can't define
         E B A
So let's cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet, or something!
                          C#m B E
Yeah something, I've just got to get myself over me

[Chorus]
E B
You know me, or you think you do, you just don't seem to see
A C#m B
I've been waiting all this time to be, something I can't define
         E B A
So let's cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet, or something!
                          C#m B C#m B
Yeah something, I've just got to get myself over me, yeah.
     A E
Over me, yeah, over me
