Title: Whiskey On Ice
Artist: Hank Williams Jr.
Album: Volume 8 - High Notes
Tabbed by: Levi Garrett (TheLeadGuitarist@Hotmail.com)

This is my variation of the original tab for this song. If you get the strumming patterns right,
it sounds exactly like Hank's version. For the intro & Fill 1, simply move your 1st (index) finger
from the G string to the A string to play the variations on the D chord. It's much easier to play
than the fingerpicked version and it sounds just like the song. I've rewritten the song in Dropped-D
tuning for this variation; simply mute the low E string with your thumb while strumming the D chords,
and you can mute it with your second finger by forming a normal G chord but not actually fretting the E string.
Use your first finger for the 0-2 (this is not a hammer on, listen to the song for the correct timing)
and your second (middle) finger for the 3B, then move your hand back into the D position. Let me
know your opinion on this tab. Thanks!

The strumming pattern for the verse is the same as the intro. Just listen to the
song and follow along with the chords.

Note: Hank throws in a dsus4 (xx0233) after "on fire" so just listen for it.

Verse 1:

 D C G D
Woke up this morning tasting Jim Beam. Holdin' the answer to some ole? boys dream,

 D C G D D Dsus4 D
Got a bad reputation, yes I'm a live wire, like my Whiskey on ice and my women, on fire.

 D C G D
From memphis to Mobil I've played all the dies, lord knows I'm lucky just to still be alive. Im

D C G D D Dsus4 D
an all around rebel and I won't be denied with my Whiskey on ice and my women on fire.

Chorus:

D C G D
I like my whiskey on ice, my women on fire, I like a good soundin guitar and I won't be called a liar.

D C G D D Dsus4 D
Spent many long nights with a burning desire for my whiskey on ice and my women on fire.

Verse 2:

 D C G D
Some folks talk about me, yes they always will, they think its been an easy ride and all been down hill,

                                      C G D
what they dont think about. what they dont realize, is the shoes that I'm fillin' are a mighty big size.

                             C G D
One night in Nashville tried to take my life, cause my friends had all left me and so had my wife

                                C G D
but a fast ride to Florida made me realize, I had some whiskey on ice and some Florida women on fire!
