Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So

Tabbed By - C (schecterguitarguy)

This is a tight song off of the Spiderman Soundtrack and i havent found many tabs
for it, so i thought i would contribute what i can...this sounds exactly like the song
and it is not too hard to play...

if you can only play with yourself...i would recommend playing the first guitar
in the intro and forgetting the part that plays over the
intro and then switching to the second guitar for the rest of the song which will
give what you are playing a harder feel (+ it is a little easier to play).

For the first guitar i would play the chord with my first finger on the second lowest
string and then barring the next three strings two frets up without pressing down on
high e. Just a lil tip, but u can play it however you would like.

Also, as for the amount of distortion, the way my amp works is that i have 2 gains,
the second giving more distortion than the highest setting on the first. So for the
first guitar, i set the first gain about 1/3 of the way and leave it there for the
whole song. For the second, i set gain 1 like 3/4 of the way. When the distortion is
kciked up on the second guitar, i kickt up to the second gain with my
footpedal and set that abpout 3/4 of the way.You can play around with what sounds right

Good Luck!

Tuning: Standard (EADGBe)

Intro

                                         Palm mute

to be clear, during this guitar 2 riff, the single strum is held through
1 whole measure and then the palm mutes are during the next measure.

Main riff - Verse
(im going to call it the verse, but it is played without words at times)

there is one variation if verse 2 for guitar 2
Guitar 1 continues its part of the normal riff throguh the whole verse,

this is played at 1:35 at "no Need For Me to Wait" (note is played on the capital letters)
then is followed by the normal riff
then is played again at 1:42 at "no Need To Three to Late" (or w.e thats wat it sounds like)
then normal riff is continued

Then the chorus is played (its played the same way even though he doesnt say "Now its all on you know!"
