Jason Isbell- "The Magician"
From the Album Sirens of the Ditch
http://www.jasonisbell.com/

Just thought I'd be the first to put up a Jason Isbell tab on this site. Its my first
so it may look a little sloppy. I don't really know if the names of the chords I wrote are
so I just figured I'd write them down. I'm pretty sure this is the way he plays
the chords in the songs as well.

Chords used-

G: 3x0033
F#/G: 2x0033
Em/G: 02x033
D: xx0232
C/G: x3x033
Am/G: x02233

Intro:
G F#/G Em/G
G F#/G Em/G
G F#/G Em/G D C/G

Verse:
G F#/G Em/G
You watch every move
G F#/G Em/G
and call it slight of hand
G F#/G Em/G
you know it's what I do
               D C/G
but never who I am, never who I am

G F#/G Em/G
started on the street
G F#/G Em/G
cards and dollar bills
G F#/G Em/G
shuffling my feet
              D C/G G
never could be still, never could be still

Chorus:
    D C/G Em/G
  G
and I am an orphan man but ain't we all
D C/G Em/G F#/G G
I can make myself disappear
D C/G Em/G F#/G G
I am an orphan man but ain't we all
D C/G Em/G F#/G G
I could be somewhere worse than here

(Next two verses and all following choruses are the same)

I had a bride
sawed her in half
couple people cried
but most of them just laughed, most of them just laughed

and I had a son
strong of hand and will
taught him how to run
but never how to steal, never how to steal

I am an orphan man but ain't we all
I can't make myself reappear
I am an orphan man but ain't we all
I hope there's somewhere worse than here

Bridge:
Am/G C/G
I was called amazing
Am/G C/G
I make folks believe
Am/G C/G
With nothing in my pockets
Am/G C/G
And nothing up my sleeve

(solo/bridge chords same as verses)

I am an orphan man but ain't we all
I can make myself disappear
I am an orphan man but ain't we all
and I know there's somewhere worse than here
worse than here
worse than here
