Free Fallin'

John Mayer's cover of the Tom Petty classic, from his live album 'Where the Light
Is: Mayer Live in Los Angeles'.

None of the other versions were how John (or Robbie McIntosh) play it. They
aren't wrong, but are Tom Petty's way of playing, not John's.

Although most of the song is fingerpicked, its fingerpicked through the 3 chords: D/F#, G and A.

I think it sound best to have the A string and the high E muted.

The A can be varied with an Asus4. It doesn't matter that much, so its up to you
what sound you like best.

Also, the first G of each line could be played as a Dsus4/G (3x0233), and in fact
probably sounds better, but again its up to you...

Capo 3

        D/F# G G D/F# A
She's a good girl, loves her mama.
      D/F# G G D/F# A
Loves Je- sus, and America too.
       D/F# G G D/F# A
Shes a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
      D/F# G G D/F# A
Loves hor- ses, and her boy-friend too, yeah yeah.

D/F# - G - G - D/F# - A

       D/F# G G D/F# A
It's a long day living in Reseda.
          D/F# G G D/F# A
There's a free- way runnin' through the yard.
      D/F# G G D/F# A
I'm a bad boy 'cause I don't even miss her.
      D/F# G G D/F# A
I'm a bad boy for breakin' her heart.

        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
And I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
And I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'

        D/F# G G D/F# A
All the vam- pires walkin' through the valley.
          D/F# G G D/F# A
They move west down Ventura Boule-vard.
            D/F# G G D/F# A
And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows.
        D/F# G G D/F# A
And the good girls are home with broken hearts.

        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
And I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
And I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'

D/F# G G D/F# A
Free fallin' now. Free fallin', now
D/F# G G D/F# A
Free fallin' now. Free fallin', now
D/F# G G D/F# A
Free fallin' now. Free fallin', now
D/F# G G D/F# A
Free fallin' now. Free fallin', now

        D/F# G G D/F# A
I wanna glide down over Mul- holland.
        D/F# G G D/F# A
I wanna write her, her name in the sky.
        D/F# G G D/F# A
I wanna free fall out into nothin'.
              D/F# G G D/F# A
Oh, I'm gonna leave this, this world for a while.

        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Now I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Now I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'

        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
And I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
        D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Now I'm free,
     D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'

  D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
  D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
  D/F# G G - D/F# - A
Free fallin', fallin'
