Linkin Park - Wretches And Kings
--------------------------------

Tab by Travis Lausch

There's a tab already on UG, but the entire key of that tab is off,
as is much of the melody, so I am sitting down with this song and
actually listening to the key it's in. There's actually quite a bit
more to the guitar than there seems in the song, and I transcribed
some parts that may or may not be guitar. I'm arranging it in standard
tuning. It may be in another tuning, but standard allows the harmonics
I hear in the pre-chorus.

Intro/Verse

Not sure exactly what effect is used here, but it sounds like whammy pedal.

                              x3  let ring----------------------
||----------------------------||------------------------------------|
||----------------------------||-----11-----11-----11-----11--------|
||o-2\---2\---2\-------------o||--14-----14-----14-----14-----14----|
||o-2\---2\---2\-------------o||------------------------------------|
||--0\---0\---0\---<5>--<5>---||------------------------------------|
||--0\---0\---0\--------------||------------------------------------|
\ = dive w/whammy bar
<#> = harmonic + octave up w/Whammy pedal

Prechorus

||----------------------------------||
||----------------------------------||
||o-2--x-x--x--x-x-----------------o||
||o-2--x-x--x--x-x-------<5>--<12>-o||
||--0--x-x--x--x-x-<3>-0------------||
||----------------------------------||

Play the last bar of the verse again.

Chorus
                              x3  let ring----------------------
||----------------------------||------------------------------------|
||----------------------------||-----11-----11-----11-----11--------|
||o-2\---2\---2\--<9---------o||--14-----14-----14-----14-----14----|
||o-2\---2\---2\-------------o||------------------------------------|
||--0\---0\---0\--------------||------------------------------------|
||--0\---0\---0\--------------||------------------------------------|
                   *
This note is a secnond guitar or synth fading in.

There's a synth part in the second chorus which can be approximated on guitar by doing this:

|---------------------------/17------|
|------------------------------------|
|------------------/14---------------|
|----------/7------------------------|
|------------------------------------|
|--/5--------------------------------|
Each note lasts one measure.

The bridge/outro goes like this:

|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|--13--13--14--------14----------------------14----------------------14-----------|
|--13--13--14--14----------14----14----14----------14----14----14---(12)---14-----|
|--11--11--12-----12----12----12----12----12----12----12----12----12----12(13)12--|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Notes in parenthesis are played instead of the other notes sometimes.

After the break with the speech:

|---------------------------------------------|
|-----------------17------17------17---15-----|
|--3----3----2---------14------14---------15--|
|--3----3----2--------------------------------|
|--1----1----0--------------------------------|
|--1----1----0--------------------------------|
                  ^2nd guitar playing with a phaser-like effect.
