TUNING: Drop D (DADGBE)

These are the correct chords and notes from the Nevermind album. Many tabs say the song is played in standard (E) tuning, but listen to the song while playing it and you will find that you are out of tune. This is because the verse riff is actually a whole note lower.
The song could be played by tuning all the strings down a note, which would also be easier to play in the case of the verse riff, but to tune the whole guitar down is much less common, and is also more time consuming and difficult than just tuning the bottom E string down to a D (by making it sound the same as the A (second down) string when the E is fretted at the seventh fret). This is also a popular tuning, which makes it more convenient. Anyway. The song.
