• Song:

    The Landlords Daughter

  • Artist:

    Paul Giovanni

I have looked everywhere for this tab and couldn't find it anywhere on the net, so I
the movie and worked it out. This is a quality song which sounds good in a pub. The chord
sounds right but it is probably played with a Capo. I have experimented and found that
third and fifth frets sound good, but it needs to be correct for your voice i.e. high
low. It does sound good with open chords as well.

Much has been said of the strumpets of yore
G C
Of wenches and bawdy house queens by the score,
   D G
But I sing of a baggage that we all adore
G C
The landlord's daughter
Am D

You'll never love another,
G C
Although she's not the kind of girl
Am
To take home -- to your mother
                                       D

Her elixir is lively and strong to the taste,
G C
It is brewed with discretion, never with haste,
D G
You can have all you like if you swear not to waste
G C
The landlord's daughter
Am D

And when her name is mentioned,
G C
The parts of every gentleman
Am
Do stand up -- at attention
                             D

There's nothing that delights so,
G C
As the part that lies between
Am
Her left toe -- and her right toe.
                                    D

Enjoy, and remember if the audience likes it, it doesn't matter if it is terribly accurate.
