• Song:

    1882

  • Artist:

    Paul McCartney

This is my first tablature. I made it mostly by ear, so some of the chords may be a bit
but I think it's mostly right.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQcM0F5zGRQ ---- Demo of the song. It was never released
an album, but Wings did a live version of it once. I'm assuming the "na na du du" sounds
is making were supposed to be the lead guitar notes, so I may tab those out in the future.

Am Dm F Am
Good morning, young master, it's 1882,
                Dm F Am
Your mother, is hungry, what will you do?
Am C G Bb Am
There is bread, in the kitchen, of the big house upstairs
                      Dm F Am
But I warn you, don't take it, from them

CHORUS
          C G
You'll be tarred, you'll be feathered,
          Bb Am
you'll be hung like a ham,
                         Dm
and I warn you, don't do it,
      F Am
young man
END CHORS

               Dm
Your mother is calling,
    F Am
she wants you by the bed,
                 Dm
so get up, young master,
F Am
shake your sleepy head,

CHORUS
"Darling son, I am dying,
and I leave it to you,
I'm leavin, tell me what,
did I do"
END CHORUS

Bb F
Boy, he steals the bread roll, packs it up and heads for the door
Man, he hears him coming, "Boy, you won't be runnin' no more"
Boy, he gets arrested, and the case is tested that day
Judge he guilty makes him, and the jailer takes him away
Good night to the outlaw, but you want to be free
Good morning, oh, it's late, too late again
