Artist-Placebo
Song-"Special K"

Tabbed By- Jade Havok 13

This is a really good song by an amazing band. I'd tell you to go check them out, but that'd be kinda dumb, because if you didn't know who they are, or this song, you probably wouldn't be looking at the tab. I have everthing in here except for this second guitar part you hear in the background during the pre-chorus. It's in octaves, but I'm too lazy to figure it out at the moment.

This is in "Placebo" tuning, which is
(L to H) F Bb Eb Ab C C

Intro (Strumming not shown):
Clean:
--0----0----0--
--0----0----0--
--9----9----9--
--9---10----9--
--0----0----0--
---------------

Distorted second part/verse:
-----------------------------
-----------------------------
-----------------------------
--3333333333333333333333--7--
--3333333333333333333333--7--
--1111111111111111111111--5--
I know it sounds like there's another part that the guitar plays, but that's bass. You can play it like that, though.

Then there's a pause, and you play something like this:
-------8--------------8---
-----5---5---------5---5--
---0-------------0--------
--------------------------
--------------------------
--------------------------

Then you go into the verse which is basically the distorted part of the intro.

Pre Chorus:
(strumming not shown!)
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
-55555555-77777777-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10
-55555555-77777777-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10
-33333333-55555555-8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8-
|----------------------------| Play that 4 times.
During the second time, there's this second guitar part, with octaves, but I don't have it yet. Sorry!

Then, there's this thing that you play only once between the chorus and prechorus. It's clean with a little bit of flanger. It's really easy, but it might be bass. You kinda palm mute it, too:

----------
----------
----------
----------
----------
-88888888-

The chorus is rather simple. There are two parts.
(Strumming not shown!)
----------------------------------
----------------------------------
----------------------------------
-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-77777777-
-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-77777777-
|-8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--55555555-| Do that 4 times as well.

Then here's part two. You play the first bracket three times, then go on to the next bracket, and play that one once.

--------------------------
--------------------------
-----------10-10-10-99999-
-33333333-----------------
-33333333--8--8--8--77777-
|-11111111-----------------|X3

----------------------------
----------------------------
-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-10----
--------------------------7-
-14-14-14-12-12-12-12-12--7-
|--------------------------5-|X1

Then you play the verse and chorus again. Then you play the outro which is really the chorus. The only real difference is the lyrics and you play a different chord. I'll post it:

Outro:
(Strumming not shown!)
----------------------------------
----------------------------------
----------------------------------
-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-77777777-
-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-77777777-
-8--8--8--8--8--8--8--8--55555555-

--------------------------
--------------------------
-----------10-10-10-99999-
-33333333-----------------
-33333333--8--8--8--77777-
-11111111-----------------

-----------------------------
-----------------------------
-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-10-----
--------------------------10-
-14-14-14-12-12-12-12-12--10-
--------------------------8--

Just figure out how many times to do each part, and (on most parts) the strumming pattern. Then you have it all (except that little bit. If you figure it out before I do, let me know!)

Much love,
