This song is from Antifogmatic, Punch Brothers' second studio album. This is the last
song on the album.

This song is very confusing at first but once you get the weird chord progressions,
you're set for the whole of the song.
You just have to be able to play lots of barre chords! You can play them however you
like but I'll tab them how I do it.
It's probably not the most efficient but find what's right for you in terms of the
chords and their positions.

Read through and look over this tab before and work out how to play it bit by bit then
attempt the whole song.

NO CAPO

Verse:

Abmaj7 G Gb
Welcome home

   Am Fm Ab Eb Ab
if home it is and well you come

Eb Am Fm Cm Fm Cm Em
we've seen the smoke and smelled the fumes.

Abmaj7 G Gb
You went for broke,

     Am Fm Ab Eb Ab
then under over a couple bucks,

Eb Am Fm Cm Ab Eb D
threw down the yoke and put up your dukes.

Chorus: (these are all sung separate of one another but are held in one long harmony so
it's a bit hard to place the chord, listen to the song for the timing).
Each chord held for 8 beats apart from the Gm, Cm, the second Ab, the Fm, and the
Gbmaj7, which are all held for twice as long.
You don't have to play the Gm on the 3rd line but it is played by the mandolin in the song.

Bb Bb7 Gm
     May a blow land

Ab Abmaj7 Cm
     where you'll feel it.

Ab Gm Fm
     May your fire spread

                 Fm* Gbmaj7 Ebm Db
     through the coal-sewn fields.

Verse:

Abmaj7 G Gb
Fare thee well,

     Am Fm Ab Eb Ab
in a welfare line or thy father's will.

Eb Am Fm Cm Fm Cm Em
Don't kill us and we'll go your bail.

Abmaj7 G Gb
You hit and held

    Am Fm Ab Eb Ab
and folded, "enthralled isn't thrilled,"

Eb Am Fm Cm Ab Eb D
you said, "grow up," and away you sailed.

Chorus:

Bb Bb7 Gm
     May the blow land

Ab Abmaj7 Cm
     where he'll see it.

Ab Gm Fm
     May your fear spread

                 Fm* Gbmaj7 Bbm
     through the tear-stained shores.

Bridge: Only start to play chords when the bass comes in

Bbm E

Bbm E
Saying, "I never knew you."

Bbm E Dbm
Saying, "I never knew you."

          E Dbm
"I never knew you."

           E Dbm
"I never knew you."

           E G E Dbm
"I never knew you."

Verse:

Abmaj7 G Gb
Welcome home

   Am Fm Ab Eb Ab
if home it is and well you come

Eb Am Fm Cm Fm Em Cm
'cause fear and fire can't consume

Abmaj7 G Gb
condemn, condone,

   Am Fm Ab Eb Ab
or dismiss what we haven't done,

    Eb Am
and he's out of salt.

Fm Cm Ab Eb D
Go dress your wounds.

Chorus:

Bb Bb7 Gm
     Lay a flare down

Ab Abmaj7 Cm
     by your dull pain.

Ab Gm Fm
     May he show up

           Fm* Gbmaj7
     or may you move on.

Ebm Gbmaj7
He will show up, he will show up

     Ebm Gmaj7 Db
or you will move on, you will move on.

That's all that's to it. I hope this tab is accurate as it's taken me a long time to
figure out the chords to this song. Thankk :).
