I figured this song out a few days ago, just playing around with the C chord. There is
another tab on the site of this song and although it is somewhat correct, most of the
chords are in the wrong places. This tab is Totally different to that version. A
reminder, I'm pretty sure this isn't the way Ben plays it but it sounds good when singing and
playing on its own or with the song.

Tuning: EADGBe

Capo 6th fret

Chords (relevant to capo)

C - (X32010)
Fmaj7 - (X33210) (can also use the F barre chord (133211)
G - (320033)
Am - (X22100)? (in the chorus I couldn't decide whether C or Am sounded better so thats
your choice what you think sounds better)

There are many improvised hammer ons and pull offs in the song, which are easy to figure
out if you listen along with the song, I'll post the main one which is always played at
the start of a verse. Here's a link to the song to make it clearer:

(relevant to capo)

B--1-------1------|
G--0-------0------|
D--0h2-----2p0----|
A--3-------3------|

C F
Father was drunk on the porch,
C G
quietly, the cleaning his guns
F C G
we sat and watch the sunset from the roof
         F G
drinking stolen beer the day I turn twelve

C F
Mama was losing her mind
      C G
so we built her home in the woods
F C
I carved our names in the side
       G F
with a knife we found beneath the house
                   G
the day you turned twelve

    F C G F C G
And I am always reminded of lies that we told but never meant
      F C G F G
And tonight, well I still hear your grin, like an echo sound from my sins
Come on, let me in

Piano break: (same chords as the verses)

    C F C G
I remember the cast on your arm, from when we were convinced we could fly
       F C G F
now we cover it up with fake names to make it seem like you were famous when
                 G
you came back to school
C F C G
Sure we never had much but we did just as we pleased
   F C G F
We had no concern for anything beyond the day we were living in we had no
        G
need to dream

    F C G F C G
And I am always reminded of lies that we told but never meant
      F C G F G
and tonight, well, I still hear your grin, like an echo sound from my sins Come on, let
me in
