Here Comes My Man - The Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten
Standard or whole step down tuning (DGCFAD)
(CAPO 3 for standard, CAPO 5 for whole step)
Arranged by Jack Cookson (Torn_Asunder)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the way I saw Brian play it during Gaslight's set on Letterman show.
It doesn't really matter if you tune down or not because his use of a capo
is purely for the chord voicings - so if you don't wanna tune down, just
stick a capo on 3rd.

Verse one:
               Em7 D
And how much time do you think that we have?
      Cadd9 G
If I wanted to I could start over again
         Em7 D
Let the good night decide who she wants me to find
          Cadd9 G
And I'll never let you drop another tear in my eye

Chorus:
        G Cadd9 G Em7
Singing oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man
        G Cadd9 G Em7 D D D D
Singing oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man

Verse two:
            Em7 D
And all my life, I never had a chance
          Cadd9 G
Don't you think I knew about all your pretty girlfriends?
        Em7 D
But I waited for you, gave you time to decide
         Cadd9 G
But you never saw it from anybody else's side

Verse three:
      Em7 D
So I packed up my things and I faced up my doubts
           Cadd9 G
You know I think I will grow my hair back out
      Em7 D
Nevermind what you think, nevermind what you like
              Cadd9 G
I'll take it out to the streets for somebody else to admire

Chorus:
        G Cadd9 G Em7
Singing oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man
        G Cadd9 G Em7 D D D D
Singing oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man

Middle eight:
       G Em7
Maybe time will tell you why I got so much hell to sell you
         Cadd9
Please, please understand me
        G D
Oh you can't just dance around me
            G Em7
Maybe your work will love you when I'm just not there to hold you
             Cadd9
Maybe your pride can be your companion
        Em7 Cadd9
But I just won't be there to stand through it
             Em7 Cadd9 D D D D
Not one more minute will I stand through it
D
You got me singing baby

Final chorus:
        G Cadd9 G Em7
oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man
        G Cadd9 G Em7
Singing oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man
        G Cadd9 G Em7
Singing oh sha la la, oh sha la la, listen honey, here comes my man
