    Majestic Grill: The Bes...

Great track by the men they couldn't hang telling, (incorrectly), the story of the ill
fated march planned by the British fascist Oswald Mosley in October 1936. I'll spare you the history lesson
but for anyone that is interested it's worth a read on Wikipedia.
I think the chords are right but as always feel free to comment, rate or correct

VERSE 1 (Vocals Only)

England 1936, the grip of the Sabbath day

In London town the only sound is a whisper in an alleyway

Men put on their gloves and boots, have a smoke before they go

From the west there is a warning of a wind about to blow

VERSE 2
     G C G C D
Like Caesar marching to the East, marches Mosley with his men
G C G D G
Dressed in their clothes of deepest black like a gathering hurricane
G C G C D
This is the British union with its flag of black and red
G C G D G
A flag that casts a shadow in Berlin and in Madrid

CHORUS
G Am C D G
Listen to the sound of marching feet and the voices of the ghosts of Cable Street
G Am C D G
Fists and stones and batons and the gun, with courage we shall beat those blackshirts down

VERSE 3
   G C G C D
So mile by mile they come on down to a place called Cable street
    G C G D G
And other men are waiting there preparations are complete
G C G C D
Mosley comes so close they now can see his outstretched arm
  G C G D G
A hand raised up that way never took the future in its palm

CHORUS
G Am C D G
Listen to the sound of marching feet and the voices of the ghosts of Cable Street
G Am C D G
Fists and stones and batons and the gun, with courage we shall beat those blackshirts down

    Em G
The battle broke as the fists and the batons fell
            Em G
Through the barricades as the sound of the wounded yell
     Em G
Jack Spot crept through with a chair leg made of lead
        Em D G
Brought down a crashing blow on Mosley's head

VERSE 4
    G C G C D
And so we learn from history generations have to fight
    G C G D G
And those who crave for mastery must be faced down on sight
    G C G C D
And if that means by words, by fists, by stones or by the gun
    G C G D G
Remember those who stood up for their daughters and their sons

CHORUS
G Am C D G
Listen to the sound of marching feet and the voices of the ghosts of Cable Street
G Am C D (G
let ring, optional)
Fists and stones and batons and the gun, with courage we shall beat those blackshirts.....
